In the new energy vehicles, SMC material is used to replace the traditional steel plate as the material of the automobile engine hood, thus achieving the goal of reducing the weight of 23% compared with the traditional steel plate engine hood. Secondly, according to the different forming characteristics of SMC material and steel plate, the structure of the inner plate of the engine hood was optimized. Compared with the steel hood, the lock strengthening plate, hinge strengthening plate and brace plate were eliminated, thus simplifying the structure of the engine hood plate. At the same time, this scheme adopts adhesive connection between the inner and outer plates of the engine hood. Compared with the traditional way of folding, gluing, spot welding and riveting of the hood, the connection process is greatly simplified.
